UNHEARD VOICES

Various Demographics Supported

This is our adaptive demographic group built for flexibility and urgent response, bridging the gap after crises when traditional aid falls short, providing recovery for those society overlooks, delivering healing, dignity, and mental health care.

We provide (4WARDSTEPS) mental health services, wellness resources, and crisis recovery support to survivors and victims of humanitarian crises within the United States who are too often overlooked. This group of demographics is built to be flexible, allow for a quick pop-up model, and launching our program (4WARDSTEPS) and initiatives in communities as need and funding align.

Customized (4WARDSTEPS) Services include:

  • Emergency trauma counseling, EMDR (mental health care)
  • Grief and loss support
  • Community resilience workshops
  • Wellness and healing practices (mind-body approaches)
  • Direct financial relief (cash aid) for impacted families
  • Animal-assisted healing
  • Family peer circles
  • Stabilization
  • Addiction trauma recovery

The Framework

PRIORITY GROUPS

Unheard Voices is our nationwide group of demographics that we serve, designed to respond flexibly yet purposefully to the urgent needs of individuals who have endured humanitarian crises right here in the United States. These are communities too often overlooked, where trauma runs deep, resources are scarce, and recovery requires more than survival. Through trauma-informed care, wellness services, and direct support, we walk alongside them as they reclaim dignity, healing, and hope.

---> Immigrant Families Facing Raids & Deportation Trauma <---

The trauma of family separation and ICE raids leaves lasting scars on immigrant parents and children alike. We provide stabilization, grief counseling, and culturally informed care to help families rebuild trust, process loss, and reclaim their sense of belonging and security.

The special project focused on this demographic is called:

DEPORTATION CRISIS PROJECT

During this phase, we do not provide direct services to individuals within the following groups listed below. Instead, this section below identifies the populations we plan to engage in future program phases. Currently, we offer resources and connections and referrals to trusted external services and support networks for these demographics:

  • Veterans & Survivors of Violence: Our nation’s veterans, many living with PTSD and emotional scars from service, deserve more than gratitude—they need care. Alongside them are survivors of mass shootings and community violence, whose lives have been torn apart by sudden tragedy. We deliver counseling, resilience workshops, and support networks that honor their sacrifice and help restore stability.

  • Recently Incarcerated & System-Impacted Individuals: For those re-entering society after incarceration, the barriers are immense. Many are also caught in exploitative cycles like “body brokering” in addiction recovery systems. We offer mental health support, reintegration counseling, and wellness resources that break destructive cycles and give people a fair chance to heal and thrive.

  • Vulnerable LGBTQIA+ Communities: Across America, LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially youth and those in underserved areas – are facing a growing humanitarian crisis. Medications are being defunded, gender-affirming rights are under attack, and reduced access to prevention resources like PrEP places more people at risk. Many are denied safety, care, and equality simply for who they are. ANEA’s Unheard Voices campaign stands with these communities, recognizing their struggle as a crisis of dignity and belonging. Through our 4WARDSTEPS program, we deliver mental-health care, crisis support, and empowerment resources that help this community reclaim stability, wellness, and self-worth—restoring humanity, respect, and freedom for all. (we provide access to resources like educational support, safety, and direct mental health services)

  • Disaster Survivors: When hurricanes, wildfires, and other natural disasters devastate communities, survivors are often left to cope with grief, displacement, and deep psychological distress. We respond with immediate trauma care, community resilience workshops, and ongoing wellness support to help families move from shock to strength.
